Job Description
The Department of Electrical Engineering at SIT is seeking highly motivated assistant professors to realize the academic missions of the department. The ideal candidate will bring academic and mentoring excellence, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for building a globally connected engineering program. The role also supports a virtual teaching and mentoring program involving international faculty from the United States, Europe, and beyond.
Educational Level
Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field
Preferred Skills
Experience coordinating international or virtual academic programs; experience developing and establishing engineering laboratories; experience working in multicultural and interdisciplinary environments.
Experience Required
Three to four years of academic or research experience in an academic setting

Requirements
- Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field
- Three to four years of academic or research experience in an academic setting
- Strong track record in teaching, research, and mentorship
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities
- Deliver and assist in engaging lectures and lab sessions for core electrical engineering courses
- Collaborate with internal and international experts to design and deliver coursework per the electrical engineering curriculum
- Perform student performance evaluations, tracking, and advising
- Provide guidance and support to help students develop habits of research and innovation
- Coordinate and assist extra-curricular activities such as field trips, student club activities, and academic conferences
- Provide reports on academic progress and insights for the continual improvement of department performance
- Participate in setting up and developing core electrical engineering labs
- Create a conducive environment for research and innovation through collaboration and active participation
